National Music Month: Men At Work

Phew! Finished already? Where has this month gone...

I started off with a classic, so I feel like I should end with one as well.

What could be more Aussie then Men At Work? And although not my favourite, one of their most famous songs.

So there you have it! One month full of Australian bands; I hope you found something new you liked amongst them all.

National Music Month: Spiderbait

Spiderbait! Some of my favourite rockers, who (in my humble opinion) does one of the best covers of Black Betty EVER!

National Music Month: Dappled Cities

Okay, okay. Back on track with music that I actually enjoy!

National Music Month: Ben Lee

How about some sugary campfire pop to make up for yesterday's angst?
All together now...

National Music Month: Silverchair

Mmmm.. smell that? That's some teen angst right there.
Oh, Silverchair... there is a good percentage of music I keep around just because it reminds me of times past and events.
Oh highschool, you tried so hard to be gritty and hardcore, but really you're just plain silly.

National Music Month: Wolfmother

Woooooolfmother! You can't really go wrong with rock 'n roll.

National Music Month: Philadelphia Grand Jury

Philly Jays! Another new-to-me band that I've really fallen in love with.

Oh, and I take back what I said about the Art vs Science music video, THIS is one of the best clips I've seen in a long time; just goes to show you don't need a big budget to make something awesome!

National Music Month: Doug Anthony All Stars

Oh dear, now this might get a bit embarrassing. I remember once upon a time in my youth being so into these three fine, upstanding citizens. This was also around the time when I was getting into Good News Week as well.

I tried to find one of their more uh... polite songs. Anything else by them just gets more and more crude.

National Music Month: Art vs Science

Oh my goodness, these guys are hilarious. I'm easily swayed by electro rock/pop and these songs are so good at getting in my head and staying there all day.

This also has to be one of the best music videos I've seen in a long time.
Can mimes be the next big thing after vampires? Please?

National Music Month: Little Birdy

Little Birdy. Beautiful singing voice, nice little song writer.

National Music Month: Kylie Minogue

Just a link to the video today since embedding seems to have been disabled for most videos and I can take a hint or two..

Miss Minogue, Australia's sweetheart. I have to admit that I'm much more of a fan of Kylie as a person rather then her singing... but I AM, however, a MASSIVE Michel Gondry fan who directed this particular music video.

National Music Month: The Catch-up

Drat! I should have been a little bit more prepared. The internets outtage means I'm a little bit behind, so I'm going to make a quick catch-up post to get us back up to date.

for the 14th: Hilltop Hoods

for the 15th: John Butler Trio

Absolutely everything about this song makes me happy!

for the 16th: Seth Sentry

for the 17th: Dead Can Dance

A bit of world fusion which I'm becoming more and more into of late.

And for today!: Tripod

Because who doesn't love a bit of musical comedy?!
Phew!

National Music Month: Something for Kate

Well, this one is a bit of a no-brainer. How could I resist a band that sounds like it was dedicated to me?! Paul Dempsey, the lead singer is also a gorgeous, gorgeous man; his single work is also well worth looking into!

I'm celebrating National Australian Music Month with Triple j! I hope you find some new music you like!

National Music Month: Machine Gun Fellatio

Like the name might suggest, these guys are outrageous with dark and sexy humor! Their live gigs were some of the best performances!
I wanted to stay at least some-what family friendly in my choices, but if you don't mind some crude language I highly suggest you go find "Mother Fucker on a Motorcycle" by these guys!

National Music Month: Boy and Bear

Another new-to-me band I've recently been listening to who I love. Beautiful harmonies!

National Music Month: Bluejuice

Bluejuice is a new-to-me band I just learned about a couple of months ago, but I now LOVE them! And like it says in the song; I just can't get them out of my head. And hey, who doesn't love jump-roping?!

I'm celebrating National Australian Music Month with Triple j! I hope you find some new music you like!

National Music Month: Adam Hills/Aussie Anthem

Remember when I asked if yesterday's song I posted could be more Aussie? ;)
A little bit different. Adam Hills is known more for his comedic antics rather then his singing, but he certainly does have a great voice!
Australia has lots of wonderful comedians but Adam Hills is one of my favourites, and our National Anthem has never sounded better!!

National Music Month: Jimmy Barnes

Yet another classic Aussie rock 'n roller! As it says in the link: Can there be a more Aussie song?
Keep on rockin Mr. Barnes!

I'm celebrating National Australian Music Month with Triple j! I hope you find some new music you like!

National Music Month: Regurgitator

One of those bands that just come with all the amusing names so long as you're (mentally, at least) fourteen years old.
I resisted posting the song "I Will Lick Your Arsehole" for this one which I rock out to frequently!
